User Interface Panels - 5 shortcuts or buttons


User can toggle snap to grid by pressing G key
Pressing M key open up the material editor
To show and hide helper is bound to Shift + Spcae by default
Ctrl + G key will bring into game mode
Pressing F key will freeze the selected object, Ctrl + F key will unfreeze object
Pressing F3 will toggle wireframe view.

Viewports


The movement hotkey is the w,a,s,d stand for forward, left, backward, right. Which coordinate with the mouse movement by holding the right mouse button down to rotate the view, similar like a RPG game.

By holding Ctrl  G in the keyboard which bring user into the game mode; allows user to run test or experience of the 3d environment which user created.

Hold the middle mouse button and move pointer to pan the view and user can roll the middle mouse button wheel to move the view forward/ backward.

Show/hide helpers in the game mode very object has a icon, which show the object number display. User can turn off the entire icon under display menu, click for show/ hide helpers.

Docking toolbar to the side of the view panel by selected a window to the left or right of the screen, drag the window by holding the title bar and move it over to the position you wanted to customize your own setting.

The main editor view contains main menu bar, rollup bar, status bar and console. This are the main editing tools which help create terrain, bring object in game, apply texture and more advanced tool like scripting.

Terrain editor which create terrain into the game editor mode, there user can set water level and automatic terrain generation controls.

Texture browser help sorted and searched for texture properties when looking for texture applying onto the materials.

Time of day which is control range of the sky setting in the game, which include sun position, set of time,  sky colours, fog settings, blending settings, day time/ night time.

Week 1 - 5 things learn form "Getting Started And Folder Structure" tutorial

  • For bin32 and bin64 is basically your gaming folder depending on your computer running at, it recommended to create a eitdor.exe icon there which help running and loading your file faster and allows to use lot memory.
  •  Inside the game folder it has no. of pak files which is very important for create and editing crysis object into the sense. The pak files which can open up with winRAR, which unlock and allows to editing materials
  • It recommended to create new .cfg file for any custom comment for running crysis engine
  • it recommended to click into the SetttingsMgr.exe and check if the software running correctly, and make should you see a green light it on
  • To install photoshop plugin which needed do it manually, and look for the selected files copy/paste into the root of the photoshop and need to copy cryTIFplugin onto photoshop as well.
  • For 3ds max plugin for cry engine, paste the cryExport.dlu file into the plugin folder of 3ds max and recommended for using the CryMaxTools folder and run the copyToMax.bat it will help install plugin panel into the 3ds max interface which will be very useful.
